My name is Mr. MPD Dawes better known as “Paradise The Prolific One,” I am the Appointed Director of YPM.

I have worked with Kemi and the team from its inception as a seedling of a ‘positive idea’, through to its full manifestation today as an asset rich with an abundance of inspirational, resourceful, and productive wealth freely available for the community.

My background encompasses a multitude of artistic experience as an executive producer, song writer, poet-lyricist, community activist, performer, facilitator, actor and front-man/cofounder of the award winning, Mobo nominated, World Famous 57th Dynasty.

Alongside YPM, I have facilitated creative arts projects and created core curriculums. For me, Young People Matter was a missing link in the social fabric of our inner city urban terrains. With all the dark and dismal negativity that surrounds today’s youth, it is great to be a part of an award winning, revolutionary spark that provides a safe haven for young people.

YPM has personally granted me the opportunity to give back to my community in a way that impacts and captures the attention of young people.

It’s true beauty however, lay in the union of our workers and our youth, not to mention the ever continuous selfless transformations YPM undergoes in-order to meet the ever changing needs of our young people… My moto is…“Their future, is in our hands…”

My name is Kemi and i am the founding director of YPM, I set up this organisation because i wanted to make a difference to young people’s live.

I want to help people live a fulfilled life, being real and true to how they are. My role is exciting and i enjoy every day that i go to work, it can be hard at times but Young people are important and we all need to invest in the younger generation.

I am a qualified youth worker and have over six years of experience working with young people in different youth work settings. I hope for the day when we can all live in peace, so as YPM grows we believe that we can have an impact on the young people and the communities that we work in.

YPM is all about giving young people advice, guidance, opportunities, and new experiences changeling them to strive towards becoming a man or women of purpose. I have a passion for helping all young people work towards reaching their full potential in life.

My name is Serena and I am a senior project worker for YPM. My role is varied and very enjoyable.

I help to develop some of the programmes we run, write session plans, deliver sessions in schools as well as in youth club and assist with the planning and running of the after school club.

I am also in charge of the sexual health programme YPM delivers. I have also been able to use my skills in drama and singing to contribute to events we have run. For example I wrote the theme song for the peace week event that was held in November.

I really enjoy working for YPM because my role in so varied I am able to work in many different areas of youth work.

No two days are ever the same which keeps my job interesting. I have a great passion for working with young people and enabling them to reach their full potential.

My name is Tolu, and I'm the press officer for YPM. I’ve been working for young people matter (on a freelance basis) from the start.

I help to raise the public's awareness of the organisation and the good deeds we are doing to try and expand the business and change the media's perception of today's youth.

I've been in the PR industry for about 6 years now and although my role within this organisation isn't directly involved with engaging with the children, I still enjoy working with the company; and feel a sense of achievement, because I know I'm contributing; towards something that's making a difference.

My name is Lucy - Anne and I am a Sessional worker at Young People Matter, assisting and working with the young people through a range of various activities, which I thoroughly enjoy.

Working here gives me an opportunity and privilege to work with and meet young people who make up the next generation. It also enables me to encourage and motivate the young people to realise and utilise their abilities, to attain to be the best they can be.

I have been able to actively get involved, using my own gifts and abilities, such as singing, acting and performing arts direction.

My name is Kyla, I’ve been working for Young People Matter for 2 years now.

My role within this organisation is to engage with the young people, value opinions, and empower individuals to take action on issues affecting their lives, including health, education, unemployment, relationships and the environment, by developing positive skills and attitude.

My experience within Young People Matter has been hard but great at the same time, I have a young daughter who is 4, looking after a child and having a job in youth work is hard because of the hours you work and the activates you do through out the half term but it’s a very rewarding jobs and I couldn’t see myself doing anything else.

My name is Emmanuel and I am a graduate in Accounting and Finance. My role in Young People Matter is a Youth Project worker/Key worker/Mentor.

Being at YPM has given me the opportunity to apply my skills and abilities (more commonly through music) in an effective way, as well as cultivate the same gifting in youths by unlocking their potential.

Growing up in an environment of crime and rebellion, from living in a once notorious estate, I became heavily involved with gangs and crime myself. But upon realising my purpose in God's eyes, I was able to break free from that lifestyle and become nothing less than an achiever.

having now proven that it is possible to make something of yourself, I found no better way to express this truth except by teaching it to people who remind me of where I've come from.

Young People Matter is the essence of our mission, and the perfect avenue for me to give back.

My name is Kojo. I am a senior sessional worker and the sports director of Young People Matter. I've been working at YPM for two years now and have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.
My role entails the running of sessions, mentoring and empowering young people to realise their full potential. We try to encourage them to try new things which generally builds ones self confidence. We offer them a number of activities, fresh ideas and alternatives to dealing with scenarios and situations.

In my own life, I found myself in a hurry to grow up which lead to many mistakes and wrong decisions. Some of which i had to learn from the hard way. Being young is not easy, for there is a lot to learn and there are many challenges life will throw at you.
However the most important thing is how you deal with them and how you overcome each situation and circumstance. I like to think that by sharing our experiences with the young people we encounter they would learn from our wrong decisions and make better ones to help to a brighter future.

Working at YPM has helped in my own life, for there is a lot you can learn from young people. They are the next generation and it is our duty to help to guide and enable them on to the right path.

I am a Self-motivated Commercial Music graduate who thrives on challenges.

He has a strong passion to see people (especially the younger generation) fulfil their GOD given purpose.

I have been working with the younger generation for over 5 years now and I enjoy what I do.
